Maryam Mirzakhani    She was the first (and only) woman to win the Fields Medal, the most prestigious award in mathematics!

 

 She was an Iranian mathematician and a professor of mathematics at Stanford University. Her research topics included Teichmüller theoryhyperbolic geometryergodic theory, and symplectic geometry. As a result of her research, she was honored in Popular Science's fourth annual 'Brilliant 10' in which she was acknowledged as one of the top 10 young minds who have pushed their fields in innovative directions. Mirzakhani was honored with the Fields Medal, the most prestigious award in mathematics. Thus, she became both the first, and to date, the only woman and the first Iranian to be honored with the award. The award committee cited her work in 'the dynamics and geometry of Riemann surfaces and their moduli spaces'.On 14 July 2017, Mirzakhani died of breast cancer at the age of 40.

Minoo Akhtar Zand   Governor in the County of Jönköping!

She was born and raised in Tehran. Her father was a high-ranking officer in the Shah's army. At the age of 17 she moved to Stockholm to study at the Royal Institute of Technology. Later she held various managerial posts at the Swedish energy company Vattenfall and was the director of the former regional labour agency in Uppsala. In February 2008 she was appointed Director-General at Banverket, the Swedish Rail Administration. She was elected a Vice-President of European Rail Infrastructure Managers in June 2009. She became the last Director-General of Banverket as that government agency merged with the Swedish Road Administration (Vägverket) in 2010 to create the new Swedish Transport Administration (Trafikverket). In September 2010 she was appointed the governor of Jönköping County.

She was the first Iranian woman to become a surgeon. she studied medicine in the Soviet Union and graduated as a surgeon in 1933, specializing in cancer treatment. She worked in Soviet hospitals until her parents died, for reasons unknown, around the same time.

She was an Iranian intellectual and journalist active during the early 20th century. In Iran, she is remembered for founding Shokufeh, an influential women's magazine.She also established the Iranian Women's Society, which reportedly had 5,000 members at the peak of its popularity
